Force

Force Tutorial here brought to you by Terkoiz. :D If you're quite new to animation itself, you might not comprehend some terms being used.

•What exactly is Force?

Well in the dictionary there are 36 descriptions of "Force" but we'll use the one most suitable for animation standards:

"physical power or strength possessed by a living being: He used all his force in opening the window. " -Dictionary.com

With that in mind, let's mesh that together with what you (hopefully) know. Let's bring in

Image

Mr. Box and Mr. Stick
(Keep in mind, this is my style of animating so what ever style you animate with, results may vary between styles)

•Compare Good vs. Bad
Let's look at some examples towards what's Good Force and whats Bad Force

Good

forcegood

Bad

forcebad

Good Traits
•A Lot of Anticipation
>>At first Mr. Stick does not push immediately at the start.

•Not Constant
>>If you've seen Lf2's early tutorial about proper stick movement (where you gain speed and slow down. I forgot what it was called) you can definitely apply that when you're doing force.
>>Theoretically, majority of the Human Motor Skills is not constant

•All Necessary Muscles (of stick) being used
>>Observe how Mr. Stick plants his back foot in front to push off it off with
>>Mr. Stick also gets in close to allow his arms to assist him with the push

Bad Traits
•No "attacking"
>>My term for making it look aggressive is "attacking". Imagine a stick fight. Which would you think would be more aggressive just by these 2 clips? Mr. Stick in the Good Example or Mr. Stick in the Bad Example?

•No Sense in weight
>>Although it may actually be inputted into real life situations, this is not the Weightless Tutorial. This is the Force Tutorial.
>>The box looks like you could carry it with your pinky toe

•Ending comments

I'm sorry to break your hearts but there is no actual step by step commands in what would a great show of force would be because "Force" can be applied into basically anything.
Walking + Force = Stomping Steps
Punch + Force = Hard Punch (duh)
Hop + Force = Leap of Faith
Fall + Force = Body Slam
Spin + Force = A Gigantic Tornado Man
Eating + Force = Devouring Teeth Grinding Hardcore Delicacy Madness
Sleeping + Force = Dramatic Movie Cinematic Flashback of Mr. Stick's Abused Childhood In Dream/Nightmare Form

Alright I think I went far enough but you get the picture. :D. Probably the most important element of Force is Anticipation.

Well, That's all my wisdom can poop out. Peace

-Terkoiz
