If you're quite new to animation itself, you might not comprehend some terms being used.
•What exactly is Mirror Image?
A mirror image is basically a reflection of the desired object that you can edit (i.e. color, alpha, tint, invert, etc.). You can use mirror images to make an illustration of a shadow, a 4th (or whatever) dimension, or just trip people out with it.

With that in mind, let's mesh that together with what you (hopefully) know. Let's bring in

Mr. Red

(Keep in mind, this is my style of animating so what ever style you animate with, results may vary between styles)

•Step by Step

Yes there is a step by step way to do this but only just to get the idea of how to actually do it.

This little video file will go VERY FAST. I have little space to put in my .wmv so I had to make this as quick as possible. Try to pick out which step is which. (Reminder: THIS IS MY STYLE. Results may vary between styles)



1. Start off with an animation
>> Let's go with something simple and just animate some 2dgeneric fight scene. >> Keep the object of what you're animating in a constant floor for now. You can go even more advanced on this when you understand the concept.

2. Copy your animation into a MovieClip

>> Copy and Paste (C&P) your whole 2dgeneric fight scene into a MovieClip (or tween, what ever tickles your fancy) >> Make sure that everything that you ONLY want reflected is C&P in the MovieClip.

3. Exact the positioning

>> Go to frame 1 (Or where ever your C&P animation starts) and place your MovieClip EXACTLY at the position where it starts.

>> Make sure the MovieClip is under the original animation clip. (Label them if you want)
